About

Sagittarius Travels is the vehicle for all my thoughts, sticky notes, scraps of paper, ticket stubs, dreams and photos of destinations both near and far. Ever since I was a small child I have been fascinated by the thrill of journeys – both my own and those of others. At the heart of my desire to commit these observations to this blog is a natural curiosity. About people.  About places. About culture. And diversity. The thrill of the road, the roar of the waves and the rustle of leaves… The rush of the city, the beat of the streets and the taste of a new country through its cuisine. All of these things fuel my urge to travel and explore places near and far. When I’m not on the road/rails/airways then I’m usually dreaming of it! I’m a part time teacher, baker, anthropologist but a full time ponderer and traveller – even if sometimes it’s only in my dreams. For what is life without dreams…

So welcome to my world, or at least our wonderful world as seen through my lens! I hope you enjoy sharing some of my travel experiences. I very much welcome your comments and stories to share too.

This blog is dedicated to the memory of Mary O’Meara (20.7.66 – 10.12.17), beautiful person, talented writer and the finest, most devoted, loving and loyal friend you could ever wish for.
